Do they understand what deadly force is?

Yesterday, a Federal Air Marshal made the ultimate decision. He used deadly force against a 44-year old passenger at the Miami airport. This is a tragedy in two ways as I see it. First, the unfortunate man that lost his life had a family etc. Second, the Marshal will have to live with the fact that even though part of the job; he had to end another human life. As tragic as this may sound to some of you, the worst part I saw of the situation was this morning’s headline on the televised news. “Should Air Marshals shoot to kill?” This whole line of questioning is pure stupidity. Lets examine it.

1. Deadly force – My definition is simply force that is deadly in nature. This means that when a citizen defending themselves (including law officers defending others) feels that their only remaining choice is to pull the weapon and use it, the recipient of said bullet is going to die. The big question this morning was “Why could they not shoot to wound”. IDIOTS. Unlike most TV shows will lead you to believe. Most individuals shot with a 9mm, 40 cal, or the ever-popular 45 cal DIE! That is the designated function of a weapon in the hands of a human. I will not go into gun rights today, only to say that I firmly believe that guns do not kill people. People kill people. I have a pistol in a safe that has not made any attempts to kill me at all. It just lies there minding its own business.
2. Even if you could use non-lethal ammunition against an offender. Why would we? In the case of the above Air Marshal, the offender he shot was
1. On an airplane acting strangely.
2. Claiming to have a Bomb in his bag.
3. Violently fleeing the aircraft.
4. Told numerous times to get on the ground.
5. Failed to heed any warnings and instructions.

If he was simply wounded during the shooting, he could still activate a bomb!! Am I the only one that understands this?

The above link uses the line “Gunned down” by the marshal. FALSE. The marshal did his job. The way America is working today, the suspect would need to blow up the plane killing all aboard, live through it, and then claim the Marshals should not have let him do it.

We have to fix our mentality folks.

Short post today. If you take the time to read this post you can understand there is a lot of meat to it though. I would suggest that you start keeping your eye on the so-called news you are getting and understand the bias that is behind it. Seek more than one input on a story if it really interests you. The 30 second blurb from a bias source is not enough. Use the most powerful weapon on earth to discover the truth.
