Taxes - Is it time for a revolution?
“Taxation without representation!” was the battle cry then. Now, simply “Taxation BY representation” would seem to fit.
What better subject to start the day with other than the dreaded taxes issue. I have lings to what I think taxes should be posted right there on the left.
The current Stalinist progressive tax code in this country is simply ridiculous. Hard-working American spends billions of dollars yearly just to comply with the code. Problem is, even the IRS does not know what the rules are.
I am tired of hearing “tax the rich”. I disagree. Taxes should be fair and equitable. Tax everyone equally, not progressively. The American dream I grew up with was to become independently wealthy, rich if you will, not to become the welfare provider for lazy folks with no drive or ambition. By the way, I am still a long way from that dream. Thanks in part to our current tax codes and the welfare, socialistic mentality of many Americans
This is not to say we should not pay taxes. The federal government has to have money to provide for our common defense, etc. etc. I for one believe the founding fathers believed in more localized government and we should be taking more responsibility at a local and state level, but that is another post all together.
If you have not yet read the book entitled “The FairTax Book” by Neal Boortz and Congressman John Linder, I would suggest you get on it. The book cover is great as well. Giant IRS letters with the good-ole Ghost Buster style circle and line through it. If you cannot imagine this, simply click on the link to the left.
Imagine this, you take home 100% (that’s one hundred percent) of your paycheck. Never mind. Simply read the book and check out the web site http://www.fairtax.org
BTW, I stated yesterday that I am not a right or left-winger. I have invented a new term, as far as I can tell. I am a Middle-Winger. There Webster, yet another made up term to add to the dictionary so as not to tick somebody off, political correctness you know!
