Things that need fixing!

On another day that should "live forever in infamy", I have been out looking for some good news. Does anyone remember the importance of this day in history? Not many seem to. No there is not a movie opening today that will tell you. You probably do not have very many people around you that were alive when this day became important. To that note I have to say that I have not been able to find a lot of good news to spark my writing juices. I think this is because our media is primarily controlled by very liberal organizations. Even if there were spectacular events occurring in the world (like Iraq's children attending schools, Afghan people feeling freedom, etc. etc.) they would not be apt to report these occurrences. So today will consist of highlighting a few things that need to be fixed in this country.

Public Schools

I myself am a product of the public school system, but MAN how things have changed! If you need a very prime example of how education has shifted focus in this country simply watch Jay Leno. For those of you that can never stay up that late, he occasionally does a bit where he approaches individuals on the sidewalk and asks them questions about current events shows them pictures of leaders, founding fathers, and celebrities. As funny as these bits are, they also show the product of our educational system in action. Most of the people seem to get the names wrong for people like the President, Vice-President, Supreme Court Justices, and the like. However they do tend to accurately name actors and comedians. The most stupid of these people even identify actors as the president if that actor is currently playing the role in a movie or TV series. VERY SAD!

Someone, anyone, comment here and tell me who is credited with the following statement.

The people are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty.”

Now surely, somebody is going to look this up on the web and come back with the right answer. I challenge you though, try and tell me who this is without researching using the web. Ask some of your friends. Ask some “learned scholars”. I learned this in school thirty some-odd years ago and it has stuck with me ever since. I cannot find one person that seems to know this quote. I will even give you a hint. The author was a great person from the Commonwealth of Virginia. The quote is important because it points out the most important and most powerful branch of our government. WE THE PEOPLE!

Hollywood

Now here is a real winner. Can anyone point me to a complete list of movies produced in 2005? I would like to know when something new and imaginative would be produced. King Kong – REMAKE! Munich – REMAKE! REMAKE REMAKE REMAKE. Get the idea? Either the leadership of Dummywood grew up in public schools where history was not taught (ooooh another hint for the quote) or they simply think WE THE PEOPLE are idiots and cannot remember the fact that a movie is not NEW if it was previously released. I am also sick of Dummywood attempting to remake history by creating acts of fiction and attempting to pass them off as historical fact. Examples, Michael Moore, JFK from a few years ago, etc etc.

News media

Here is the granddaddy of all FUBARs. For those of you who are not familiar with this term. Look it up! I will simply say that the news media should REPORT the news, not make, modify, or insert personal agendas into the news. It is not reporting in my opinion when a so-called news anchor must insert personal opinions and importance to a story instead of simply reporting the situation. It is for WE THE PEOPLE to decide the importance of the story. It is the responsibility of WE THE PEOPLE to act upon outrages committed by our government. It is the responsibility of the news media to report, not to achieve ratings. When the media seeks ratings and advertising for the news, it is no longer news; it is another act of entertainment and usually fiction.

I guess everyone seems to agree with me. No comments since I started this blog. Of course my education tells me that no one is reading this yet. Must work on that.

God Bless You, America, and the World.

Oh, yea, MERRY CHRISTMAS
